SPACE is a multidisciplinary arts non-profit in Portland, Maine, grounded in the belief that vital communities are activated by experimentation, conversation, and camaraderie.

For one year, you'll receive the calendar along with surprise perks inside like four seasonal Risoprinted postcards by our upstairs neighbors, Pickwick Independent Press, along with occasional inserts by SPACE Staff.
Upgrade to a SPACE membership starting at $50 or $25 for 6-months or enrolled full-time students. All donors receive the monthly events calendar mailed directly to them, ticket discounts to most programs with your member card, exclusive pre-sales to events that will sell out, and artist-made ephemera throughout the year. We welcome donations of any size, but perks and discounts come with a full membership.
As an alternative platform for local, national, and international artists, SPACE prioritizes original collaborations, risk-taking, and public engagement with programming across music, visual art, film, performance, literary arts and more. SPACE uses the top floors of its building to rent below-market-rate studios to local artists and run an artist-in-residence program. SPACE is also a partner in Andy Warhol Foundation Regional Regranting program, entering its 6th year administering Kindling Fund grants for Maine artists.
